Tech Outdoor Orientation is an optional program designed to assist first year students in making a successful transition to college life and academics. The six-day format includes group camping, challenge course, rock climbing, hiking and whitewater rafting. Small group activities with fellow freshmen allow students to learn about the university, make friends and increase self-confidence while challenging themselves to outdoor adventures in the Beckley region.

Programs are led by Tech Adventures staff and local outfitter services. These professional staff will guide participants through camp activities, outdoor adventures and facilitate evening discussion of topics focused on developing strategies to help navigate the challenges of college academic and social life.

Registration materials and processes are being finalized for the summer of 2017. Please revisit this site at the beginning of March for additional information.
